Feb 15, 2015, 19:18 PM
On the popular HGTV show Flipping The Block, John and Whitney Spinks were Team Black, competing against three other teams on a quest to transform a dingy, Southern California condo, room by room, with just a $37,000 budget. At the Birmingham Home + Garden Show, the married duo will share behind-the-scenes secrets on how they renovated each room as part of their journey to "flip" the final project for the biggest profit - plus they'll give us the inside scoop on how they won so many room challenges.
John and Whitney Spinks share what's hot right now in home decor:
Mixing Metals - Mixing gold decor with rose gold or silver is very hot right now! It's eclectic and somewhat unexpected, which makes rooms with multiple metals more interesting.
Navy Blue Paint - While it may not be Pantone's Color of the Year, it is all the rage, and it's one of our favorite colors. It's a classy color that pairs well with creams, corals, marble, and gray.
Geometric Patterns - Triangles are becoming very popular. We're using lighting fixture made in geometric shapes - so cool!
See John and Whitney on the Fresh Ideas Home Stage at the Birmingham Home + Garden Show on February 14 at 12pm and 4pm and February 15 at 12pm and 3pm. Not only will they be sharing invaluable DIY hacks and resources, they'll also be giving away a gift certificated for $50 at D. Lawless Hardware or $100 at Wallcharmer.com at each of their presentations! Don't miss out!
