When one of Birmingham’s favorite consumer events, the Birmingham Home + Garden Show, returns to the BJCC February 18-21, it ushers in the spring season with ideas, tips and the hottest products for home and garden. So what are the top 5, not-to-be-missed features at the show?
1. Meet Celebrity Garden Experts. Guests at the show can meet and get tried-and-true tips from HTGV/DIY’s Matt Muenster, Diva of DIY Leanne Lee, and HGTV Beach Flip’s Lucy Farmer.
2. Upcycles, DIYs, and Restores Galore. Not only will the Diva of DIY be sharing her top projects and idea for refreshing your space on a budget, Upcycle Birmingham will have a booth showcasing some of their unique decor. Find gorgeous treasure that have been transformed from older pieces. Plus, HGTV star Lucy Farmer will teach folks how to restore old doors with her Door Restore. Learn how to turn the traditional door into a coffee table, headboard, and more.
3. Fabulous Front Porches. Memories are made inside the home, and no spot is more conducive to creating classic Southern recollections than the front porch. From drinking lemonade on a hot summer night to pumpkin carving on an October Sunday, front porches are powerful. The Fabulous Front Porches are created by Over the Mountain contractors and decorated by Southeastern Architectural Salvage.
4. Medical Professionals Day. It’s free admission all day on Friday, February 19 for medical professionals. The show wants to thank the thousands of medical professionals who serve patients all over greater Birmingham. Anyone with a current medical ID just needs to show it at the registration desk in the lobby of the show to receive complimentary admission.
5. Craft Beer Tasting. Guests can start the weekend off right with Craft Beer Tasting presented by Birmingham Mountain Radio. Check out a variety of beers from local small and independent brewers on Saturday, February 20 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
